Als \u00e4lteste bekannte Marmorierungstechnik reicht ihre Herkunft bis ins Jahr 1000 zur\u00fcck. Die Sch\u00f6nheit des SUMINAGASHI liegt nicht nur in der Methode, sondern auch im Design, dessen Linien und Schattierungen jedes Mal anders und unvorhersehbar sind. Die Absicht des K\u00fcnstlers beeinflusst das Ergebnis nur teilweise, da die Details des Werkes durch die Vibrationen bestimmt werden, die der K\u00fcnstler dem Wasser \u00fcbertr\u00e4gt. Nach seinem Studium an der Taiheiyo Kunstakademie in Tokio und einer beruflichen sowie k\u00fcnstlerischen Laufbahn in Japan zog er aus Leidenschaft f\u00fcr die Kunst nach Italien. In Florenz erwarb er ein Diplom in der Gem\u00e4lderestaurierung am Palazzo Spinelli und nahm an einem Zeichenkurs an der Akademie der Sch\u00f6nen K\u00fcnste in Florenz teil. Nach vielen Jahren in Florenz lie\u00df er sich im Piemont, in Casale Monferrato (AL), nieder, wo er traditionelle japanische Tuschmalerei, bekannt als \u2018Sumi-e\u2019, unterrichtet.
