She is a student of <b>Yuho Furusawa<\/b>, who leads the Furusawa school in its second generation and through whom she continues this long-standing tradition.<\/p><p class=\"translation-block\">Rooted in the Furusawa school's tradition and its origins in Hy\u014dgo Prefecture, Jiutamai is distinguished by its intimate and contemplative nature. Traditionally performed in spaces known as <em>zashiki<\/em>, tatami-floored rooms, it creates a unique sense of closeness between dancer and audience. At the heart of the performance is <em>ki<\/em>, the vital energy that, through subtle and natural movements, creates a profound connection between dancer and audience.<\/p><p>With her sensitivity and artistic interpretation, Mayu Shirai presents Jiutamai as a language of silence, memory and poetry, capable of conveying emotion through every gesture.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-ea68160 e-flex e-con-boxed e-con e-parent\" data-id=\"ea68160\" data-element_type=\"container\" data-e-type=\"container\">\n\t\t\t\t\t<div class=\"e-con-inner\">\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-cb4ad4d elementor-widget elementor-widget-text-editor\" data-id=\"cb4ad4d\" data-element_type=\"widget\" data-e-type=\"widget\" data-widget_type=\"text-editor.default\">\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-widget-container\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<p class=\"translation-block\"><strong>On Saturday, 19 September at 2:15 pm, on the main stage<\/strong>, Mayu will present a <strong>Jiutamai performance<\/strong>\u2014a moment of contemplation and beauty, inviting audiences to immerse themselves in the elegance of traditional Japanese dance.<\/p><p class=\"translation-block\"><strong>At 4:00 pm<\/strong>, she will then lead the <strong>Japanese Dance and Culture Workshop<\/strong>, an open session for everyone, with no previous experience required. Through simple movements, gestures, postures and a short choreography, participants will have the opportunity to discover Japanese dance and explore the cultural meaning behind its movements.
