Board Games

Japan Matsuri offers visitors the chance to explore the world of board games, card games, and miniatures: an experience that combines entertainment, strategy, and social interaction.

Thanks to collaborations with several associations and local groups, the festival presents a wide range of activities designed both for seasoned players and for those discovering this universe for the very first time.

Giochintavola
This association, dedicated to promoting and spreading board games, will showcase modern and engaging titles, including Japanese-themed games and works by Japanese authors. Its goal is to stimulate the mind and encourage social interaction, offering a valuable cultural and social alternative.

Lo Stregatto – I Giochi
Originally founded as a children’s bookstore in Locarno, it has since become a reference point for board games, card games, and miniatures. At Japan Matsuri, it will feature a selection of titles, including the popular trading card games One Piece and Gundam, as well as many other creations by Japanese and international authors.

Neuromante Ticino
An association that promotes gaming as a tool for community building and social development. With a special focus on young people, it organizes activities aimed at reducing digital dependency and encouraging real, shared experiences. Its participation in Japan Matsuri is an opportunity to further spread its mission.

Wargaming Ticino
A young group dedicated to enhancing the value of miniature games. From fantasy to historical settings, featuring iconic titles such as Warhammer 40k, Kings of War, and Conquest, it offers tournaments, demonstrations, and meeting opportunities for both enthusiasts and newcomers.

Lotus Ticino Association
A non-profit organization that runs tournaments of Magic: The Gathering and board games, with the aim of building community and fostering social interaction through play.

Japan Matsuri thus proves to be not only a cultural festival but also a place where games become opportunities for learning, connection, and fun for everyone.

All these activities will take place inside Pavilion D.
