Kenjutsu
The Art of the Japanese Sword
Kenjutsu, literally meaning “the art of the sword”, is the traditional martial art practised by the samurai, dedicated to the use of the katana and related weapons. Passed down through the centuries by various traditional schools, Kenjutsu is now practised around the world.
Since 2011, Dojo Ketsui has brought Kenjutsu to Ticino, promoting through its practice a deeper understanding of Japanese culture and philosophy. The association is primarily affiliated with the Wa Rei Ryu school, founded in Barcelona in 1986 by Osensei Francisco Royo, and also practises the Ni-Ten Ichi Ryu style.
During this workshop, you will have the opportunity to discover the world of Kenjutsu and gain a closer insight into the traditions and principles that define the art of the Japanese sword.
